Visitors can reach Penang Hill by taking the funicular train system which runs every half hour from 6.30am to 11.00pm daily. The journey to the top takes around half an hour and includes two stations with a small historical museum showcasing the train service’s history. Besides tourists, many runners and hikers also frequent Penang Hill to challenge themselves on the winding roads and discover the fascinating tropical flora and fauna. The area is known for its abundant Monkey Plants and Slipper Orchids, and visitors may also be fortunate enough to spot Dusky Leaf Monkeys, Black Giant Squirrels, and the Greater Racket-Tail Dongo bird.
